Early Childhood Development Program

The Early Childhood Development Program at North Shore Community College is committed to providing students with knowledge of the arts and sciences needed for successful transfer to four year institutions while preparing them as knowledgeable, sensitive, and competent early childhood educators.

This program is designed for students who, after graduation from North Shore Community College, plan to transfer to a four-year college where they will pursue the last two years of a teacher education program leading to Massachusetts Early Childhood Education Initial Teacher Licensure.

Upon completion of this associate degree students are eligible to apply for Teacher Certification through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. This will enable students to work in private pre-schools and day care settings. Students interested in teaching in public school settings will need to complete a bachelor's degree.
