Early Childhood Education - Associate of Arts

Urban College of Boston offers an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education.  This program combines practical experience with the theoretical knowledge needed to obtain positions working with young children in a variety of institutional and agency settings.


These settings include:

  • Infant/Toddler Care
  • Out-of-Schooltime Care
  • Family Child Care
  • Head Start

Transfer agreements with several Boston four-year colleges and universities facilitate continuance of baccalaureate programs in this important career field.  The program meets the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care requirements for Teacher, Lead Teacher, Director I and Director II coursework for these roles in the early childhood education field.
